Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati
Amravati University was established on Maharashtra Day and Worker's Day, the 1st May 1983 to cater to mostly the educational needs of rural population of western Vidarbha. It was named Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University in the year 2005. The university has its jurisdiction within five districts of Vidarbha viz. Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldana and Washim. By now, this sapling has grown into a gigantic tree having about more than 4 lacs students. It is noteworthy to state that the University has a lush green campus of 470.63 acres with 28 Teaching Departments, a conducted Model Degree College at Buldana. The University pays special attention towards education upliftment of the backwards and the downtrodden. Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University has been determined and committed to create a human resource capable of converting challenges into opportunities through imparting training to youth in various aspects of skill development. As such it addresses to all dimensions of higher teaching learning process towards making of the learners; the ideal citizens, the academic leaders and the global entrepreneurs to represent the Leader Indian in the 21st Century. The University Library is a fundamental source of knowledge that helps students from different corners in their Endeavour of learning. The library has been almost computerized and the students can access the desired information from home with the ease of a click. The library has voluminous online journals facilitating the researchers across the nation.
Games and Sports
It is not only the academics but the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities also been given prime importance in developing student's personality and character. Facilities for games and sports like swimming pool of international standard, playfields for various games and a boost to cultural activities are well reflected in participation and performance of the students at national and international level.

UGC- Scheme of Remedial Coaching for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) & Minority Community Students
Objectives: a) Improve the academic skills and linguistic proficiency of the students in various subjects. b) To raise their level of comprehension of basic subjects to provide a stronger foundation for further academic work. c) To strengthen their knowledge, skills and attitudes in such subjects, where quantitative and qualitative techniques and laboratory activities are involved, so that, the necessary guidance and training provided under the programme may enable the students to come up to the level necessary for pursuing higher studies efficiently and to reduce their failure and dropout rate. d) To provide career guidance and psychological counselling for capacity building to those who are in need of such counselling.
UGC Scheme of Coaching classes for entry into services
Objectives: To prepare students to gain useful employment in Group "A","B" and "C", Central services, State services and equivalent positions in private sector. To orient students for particular examination conducted for selection to services- such as IAS, State Public Services, Bank recruitment etc. To focus on the specific requirements of a particular competitive examination.

Equal Opportunities Cell
Objectives: To create awareness and provide guidance about various welfare schemes/programmes/fellowships/stipends offered by the Central/State governments for the welfare for the students belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories. To run various schemes funded by UGC, State and Central Government. For the underprivileged class students. To organize seminars /conferences/workshop/exhibitions/cultural functions/sports events to increase social inclusion. The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India. The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth.

Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC)
The objectives of the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) are to enable newly appointed Lecturers to: understand the significance of education in general, and higher education in particular, in the global and Indian contexts; understand the linkages between education and economic and socio-economic and cultural development, with particular reference to the Indian polity where democracy, secularism and social equity are the basic tenets of society; acquire and improve art of teaching at the college/university level to achieve goals of higher education; keep abreast of the latest developments in their specific subjects; understand the organization and management of a college/university and to perceive the role of teachers in the total system; promote computer literacy as well use of ICT in teaching and learning process.
Dr. Shrikant Jichkar Memorial Research Centre for Indian History and Culture
To develop the centre as a platform of research on Central Indian History and Culture, the centre is committed to excellence in research on Central Indian History and Culture and particularly on the history and culture of Vidarbha by providing necessary guidance and support to research scholars.
Fabrication Laboratory (FAB-LAB)
Experimentation with materials, prototyping and testing, exploration of innovative fabrication processes is fundamental to the design culture at the FAB-LAB. In support of these targets the FAB-LAB aspects a broad variety of equipment, ranging from CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Desk top CNC Mill, PCB Prototyping System, Bench top Milling Machine, PCB milling machines, Vinyl Cutter, 3D Printer to Laser Systems for Engraving and Cutting. The lab is structured as an open environment for material-based learning and research, using a wide range of materials from foam and wood, metal and plastics to composites and smart materials.
Central Instrumentation Cell (C.I.C.)
To acquire and maintain sophisticated instruments, computers software for undertaking quality research programs under one roof. To render analytical services/research facilities to the researchers, students and industrial personnel. To facilitate testing, calibration and standardization to the aspirant users. Organization of training programs, workshops and expert lectures with a view to foster repair and maintenance of scientific instruments and electronic hardware. Facility Extended
Our University has a Conference Hall which is furnished with Colour TV, VCR, OHP, LCD Projector and PA System to aid PPT and audiovisual presentation. Facilities are available for conducting ON-LINE tests too. Adjacent halls are easily made available for written tests. The Conference Hall has air-conditioned anterooms where Group discussions and personal Interviews can be conducted.
Our University makes arrangements to receive the panel members at the Amravati/Badnera Railway Station, provide transport to them to the Campus and back, provide accommodation in the Institute Guest House and extend necessary hospitality in terms of food, tea and snacks.
