AIM OF THE DEPARTMENT
Mathematics is the search for truth and wisdom.
The Department of Mathematics is established in 1990 with the major objective of promoting Post-Graduate studies and research. The Department offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes. The main thrust area of research is Relativity and Cosmology and till to date 33 students have obtained their Ph.D. degrees. The department has successfully completed two research projects funded by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. It is a matter of pride that the Department has organized two International Conferences ICR-2005 and ICGR-2015 to commemorate the centenary years of Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity and General Theory of Relativity in the years 2005 and 2015 respectively . Also on the eve of Silver Jubilee Year, The department has organized the National Conference on Recent Advances in Mathematical Science-2016 . Eight Students of the Department have qualified NET/SET/GATE and one research student is working under INSPIRE Fellowship, DST, New Delhi.
