SPECIAL NOTE FOR INFORMATION OF THE STUDENTS

(1)           Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, it is notified for general information and guidance of all concerned that a person, who has passed the qualifying examination and is eligible for admission only to the corresponding next higher examination as an ex-student or an external candidate, shall be examined in accordance with the syllabus of such next higher examination  in force at the time of such examination in such subjects papers or combination of papers in which students from University Departments or Colleges are to be examined by the University.

pattern of question paper on the unit system

 

                The pattern of question paper as per unit system will be boradly based on the following pattern.

(1)        Syllabus has been divided into units equal to the number of question to be answered in the paper. On each unit there will be a question either a long answer type or a short answer type.

(2)        Number of question will be in accordance with the unit prescribed in the syllabi for each  paper i.e. there will be one question on each unit.

(3)        For every question long answer type or short answer type there will be an alternative choice  from the same unit. However, there will be no internal choice in a question.

(4)        Division of marks between long answer and short answer type question will be in the ratio of  40 and 60.

(5)        Each short answer type question shall Contain 4  to 8 short sub question with no internal  choice.

Ordinance No. 4 of 1996

 

Examinations leading to the Degree of |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò

(Bachelor of Performing Arts) Ordinance 1996.

 

Whereas it is expedient to make an ordinance in respect of examinations leading to the Degree of |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò  (Bachelor of Performing Arts) for the purposes herein-after appearing, the Management Council is hereby pleased to make the following Ordinance-

 

1.                This Ordinance may be called, Ordinance in respect of Examinations leading to the Degree of |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò  (Bachelor of Performing Arts) Ordinance 1996.

2.                This Ordinance shall come into force with effect from the Academic Session 1995-96.

3.                The following shall be the Examinations leading to the degree of |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò (Bachelor of Performing Arts) namely:-

                   (i)         the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò, ¦ÉÉMÉ -1 (B.P.A. Part-I) Examination.

                   (ii)        the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò, ¦ÉÉMÉ - 2 (B.P.A. Part-II) Examination and

                   (iii)       the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò, +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Final) Examination.

4)                The duration of each of the above courses shall be of one academic year with an examination at the end of each academic year.

5)                The examinations specified in paragraph 3 above shall be held twice a year at such places and on such dates as may be appointed by the Board of Examinations.

6)                Subject to his compliance with the provisions of this Ordinance and of other Ordinances in force from time to time, an applicant for admission to the:-

             (A)       |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ - 1 (Bachelor of Peforming Arts, Part-I) Examination shall have passed :

             (i)   the 12th Standard examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with English as one of the subjects of passing and in such subjects and with such standard of attainments as may be prescribed.

OR

             (ii) the XII Standard Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in Vocational Stream with one Language only.

or

             (iii) the Diploma in Education(D.Ed.) (Two year course) of Maharashtra State Education & Research and Training Council, Pune with English as one of subjects of passing.

             (B) |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ - 2 (B.P.A. Part-II) Examination shall have passed the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1 (B.P.A. Part-I) Examination of the University or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with English as one of the subjects of passing and

             (C)       |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Final) Examination shall have passed the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-2 (B.P.A. Part-II) Examination of this University.

                   Provided that the applicant seeking admission to any of the above examinations shall have passed the qualifying examination not less than one academic year previously.

7.                Without prejudice to the other provisions of Ordinance No. 6 relating to the Examinations in General the provisions of Paragraph 5,7,8,10,27 and 32 of the said Ordinance, shall apply to every collegiate candidate.

8.                The fee for the examination shall be :-

                   (i)   For |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ -1

                         (B.P.A. Part-I) Examination -

                         (a) For Theory Examination Rs. 65.00

                         (b) For Practical Examination Rs. 15.00

                   (ii) For |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ - 2

                         (B.P.A. Part-II) Examination -

                         (a) For Theory Examination Rs. 65.00

                         (b) For Practical Examination Rs. 15.00

                               and

                   (iii)For |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò +xiªÉ

                         (B.P.A. Final) Examination -

                         (a) For Theory Examination Rs. 65.00

                         (b) For Practical Examination Rs. 15.00

9.                The Scope of theory paper and practical shall be as indicated in the Syllabi.

10.              The Scheme of Examinations shall be prescribed under regulation.

11.              There shall be no classification of examinees successful at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1 ´É |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-2 (B.P.A. Part-I and B.P.A. Part-II) Examinations.

12.              Examinees successful at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò (B.P.A.) Examination obtaining 60% or more marks in the aggregate shall be placed in the first division, those obtaining less than 60% but not less than 45% of such marks shall be placed in the Second Division and all other successful examinees in the Third Division. Division at |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Final) Examination shall be based on the aggregate of the marks obtained by an examinee at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1,2 ´É +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Part-I,Ii and Final) Examinations taken  together.

13.              Examinees who are successful at each of the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò (B.P.A.) examinations appearing in all subjects at one and the same time and obtaining not less than 75% of the marks prescribed in a subject, shall be declared to have passed the examination with Distinction in that subject.

                   Explanations:-

                   (i)         No Distinction shall be awarded at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1 ´É ¦ÉÉMÉ-2 (B.P.A. Part-I and B.P.A. Part-II) Examinations.

                   (ii)        Distinction at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò (B.P.A.) Examination shall be awarded on the basis of the marks obtained at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1, ¦ÉÉMÉ-2 ´É +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Part-I, Part-Ii and Final) Examinations taken together.

14.              Provisions of Ordinance N0.7-A relating to the condonation of Deficiency of Marks for Passing an Examination and of Ordinance No. 10 relating to Exemptions and Compartments shall apply to the Examinations under this Ordinance.

15.              An Ex-student at an Examination under this Ordinance shall be eligible for readmission to a subsequent Examination on payment of a fresh fee and such other fees as may be prescribed in this behalf.

16.              (A)      Any Person who has passed |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Final) Examination under this Ordinance or any of the first degree examination of this University or any other statutory University may on payment of prescribed fee (Rs. 65+15) for each practical as examination fee plus other fee per subjects be admitted to subsequent examinations in one or more Arts prescribed under Paper IV of Part-I, Part-II and Final examinations along with practical prescribed for the said Art not offered by him or her earlier for the examination without being required to prosecute regular course of studies in the Art  in a college. Such an examinee will be required to take simultaneously all the part examinations leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Performing Arts in Art and on securing not less than the minimum marks prescribed for the Art shall be issued a certificate of having passed the examination in additional Art as the case may be.

                   (B)       The application for admission to the Examination under (A) above shall be submitted to the Registrar not less than three months before the date of commencement of the examination.

17.              As soon as possible after the examination, but not later than 30th June next following in case of  examinations held in March, April and 28th February next following in case of Examinations held in October, November, the Board of Examinations shall publish a list of Successful Examinees at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1 (B.P.A. Part-I) Examination, the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-2 (B.P.A. Part-II) Examination  and the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Final) Examination.

18.              The names of examinees passing the examination as a whole in the minimum prescribed period and obtaining the prescribed number of places in the First and Second Division, shall be arranged in Order of Merit as provided in the Examinations in General Ordinance No.6.

                   Provided that the Merit list shall only be published for Summer Examination.

19.              Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this ordinance, no person shall be admitted to an examination under this Ordinance, if he has already passed that examination or an equivalent examination of any other Statutory University.

20.              Examinees successful at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1 (B.P.A. Part-I) Examination and the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-2 (B.P.A. Part-II) Examination shall be entitled to receive a certificate in the prescribed form signed by the Registrar, Examinees succesful at the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò  +ÆiªÉ (B.P.A.Final ) Examination shall on payment of the prescribed fees receive a Degree in the prescribed form, signed by Vice-Chancellor.

Examinations leading to the Degree of |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò

(Bachelor of Performing Arts) Regulation 1996.

 

Whereas it is expedient to make regulation in respect of examinations leading to the |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò (Bachelor of Performing Arts) for the purposes herein-after appearing, the Management Council is hereby pleased to make the following regulation -

1.                This regulation may be called regulation in respect of examinations leading to the Degree of |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò (Bachelor of Performing Arts) Regulation 1996.

2.                This regulation shall come into force with effect from the date of its passing by the Management Council.

3.                The Scheme of examinations for |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-1 (B.P.A. Part-I), |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò ¦ÉÉMÉ-2 (B.P.A. Part-II), |ÉÉnù̶ÉEò Eò±ÉÉ ºxÉÉiÉEò +xiªÉ (B.P.A. Final) shall be as shown in Appendices A,B and C respectively, appended with this regulation.

4.                The Scope of theory and practical for each part of the Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree Examinations shall be as indicated in the syllabi.
