State Electronics :- Qualitative idas

UNIT V : Electron Ballistics :-
Electron motion in transverse uniform electric field, motion of a
charged particle in a uniform magnetic field, deflection in such electric and
magnetic fields, velocity filter, theory and experimental procedure of
Thomson’s method for measuring e/m of electrons.
Molecular
Spectroscopy :- Photons, quantization of energy, old
quantization rule and derivation of energy levels for a) hydrogen atoms, b)
Simple harmonic oscillator and a rigid rotator using old quantum rule,
corresponding exact results (without derivations): electronic, vibrational and
rotational transitions in molecules in the light of above results for hydrogen
atom, harmonic oscillator and a rigid rotator resp, typical frequency regions
for these transition (near visible, Infra red and Micro wave respectively), statement
of relection rules for vibrational and rotational selection rules for
vibrational and rotational transitions only pure vibrational & rotational
transitions to be considerd.
UNIT VI : Radioactivity :- alpha, beta and gamma radiations and
their properties, laws of radioactive disintegration, halflife period and mean
life time, Geiger-Muller counter.
Nuclear
Magnetic Resonance :- Spin angular
momentum, magnetic moment associated with spin, nuclear Lande of factor, energy
of a magnetic dipole in magnetic field, quantization of spin projection and
splitting of energy levels in magnetic field because of magnetic-dipole and
field interaction, frequency of transition, principle behind experimental NMR
spectroscopy, effects like chemical shift and coupling constant, usefulness of
NMR spectroscopy in determining the group analysis, structure and
configurations of molecules.

Unit V : Section of
Solid Preparation of freehand proportionate dimensioned sketches of :
a) Section of solids keeping solids in different
positions.
b) Sketches of following elements : Screw
threads (ISI thread profiles) Types of bolts, nuts, studs and set screws,
Locking arrangement of nuts and bolts.
Foundation bolts - Rag foundation, eye foundation lewis foundation
Unit VI : Isometric views and projections.
a) Isometric
scales and isometric views of simple objects.
b) Isometric views & projections of
reactanular, cyclindrical and spherical objects and representation of slots on
slopping faces.
PRACTICALS :
Each candidate will
submit a set of twelve drawing sheets on above syllabus evenly distributed as
per list attached.
The practical
examination will consist of oral on the topics based on above syllabus.

PRACTICE
1. Carpentary and Pattern Making:
Identyfying of
some common types of timber and their Engineering applications. Names and uses of Carpenter’s Tools. setting and sharpening of the tools. Various
types of wood working joints and appliction.
2. Smithy :
Name and uses of
the equipement required in a smithy shop and their application, Demonstration
of various operations and their application, Operation of the Smith’s
hearth. Observation of various other
hand power forging operations.

Pattern) Regulation, 2001.
Whereas it is expedient to
frame the Regulation in respect of Examinations leading to the
Degree of Bachelor of Technology [Food, Pulp & Paper, Oil & Paint,
Petrochemical and Polymer (Plastic)] (Four Year Degree Course.... Semester
Pattern) for the purposes hereinafter appearing the Management Council is
hereby pleased to make a following
Regulation.
1. This
regulation may be called “Examinations leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Technology [Food, Pulp & Paper, Oil
& Paint, Petrochemical and Polymer (Plastic)] (Four Year Degree Course....Semester
Pattern) Regulation, 2001.
2. This Regulation shall come into force from the date of its approval by the
Management Council.
3. The
Schemes of Teachings and Examinations for Ist & IInd Semester for Bachelor
of Technology [Food, Pulp & Paper, Oil & Paint, Petrochemical and
Polymer (Plastic)] (Four Year Degree Course....Semester Pattern) shall be as
per Appendix-A appended with this Regulation.
